Donate a bike to a child in foster care

We are Building Bikes, Spreading Love, a non-profit out of Solon, OH that has been operating for the past ten years to raise money for bikes to gift to kids in foster care.

Owning a bicycle can help foster youth to develop independence, confidence, and also allow them to just be kids. Give the gift of mobility and freedom.

A donation of $100 will cover the cost of one bicycle. Volunteers will then assemble and deliver the bikes. Donations are accepted up to Dec. 5.

All donations are tax deductible through our fiscal sponsor, Cuyahoga County DCFS. New, already built, bikes can be donated as well. Questions can be emailed to BuildingBikesSpreadingLove@gmail.com or via text to 440‑476‑1396.

We'll be assembling the bikes on Dec. 7, 2‑4pm

At the Family Life Center
16349 Chillicothe Rd
Chagrin Falls, OH 44023

If you would like to build your bike yourself, you are more than welcome to come. Bring scissors, basic tools, and a bike pump (if you have one).

Our Story:

My name is Jennifer, and as a kid I remember receiving a new bike on Christmas morning and it being the most exciting gift ever. This event is all about helping a child, removed from their family, living in a new home, to make a memory like that. Since 2015, with the help of many generous people, we've donated over 700 bikes and spread joy to our local youth in foster care.
